Beyond the technical program, IFAC 2026 offers a series of social events designed to bring together the global control community in celebration, reflection, and friendship — from the opening night in Busan to the closing farewell that hands the torch to the next host nation. |

Held in the evening, the Welcome Reception offers participants a chance to enjoy Busan's vibrant night skyline while networking with fellow delegates from around the world. As a special highlight of the evening, a drone light show will take place above the venue — a celebration of IFAC's 60-year legacy of feedback control, rendered through hundreds of synchronized drones lighting up the night sky over Busan. |

Following the Closing Ceremony, participants are invited to the Farewell Party, where the spotlight turns to the Netherlands — host of the next IFAC World Congress in 2029. The evening will feature Dutch food and beverages, offering a warm and fitting send-off as the IFAC community looks ahead to its next gathering. |

Coffee Breaks |

Coffee breaks will be served in the Lobby Areas of Convention Hall (1F–3F), Exhibition Center 1 (2F–3F), and Exhibition Center 2 (1F & 3F). Refreshments include coffee, juice, and herbal tea, along with 2–3 daily selections inspired by K-Food/Dessert concepts.

Following the Opening Ceremony, participants will walk approximately 15 minutes to the Busan Cinema Center (“Yeonghwaui Jeondang”), the official venue of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and one of the city's most iconic architectural landmarks. Designed by the Austrian firm Coop Himmelb(l)au, the Cinema Center is renowned for its Big Roof — the world's largest cantilevered roof structure, certified by Guinness World Records — illuminated at night by thousands of LED lights that transform the building into a striking visual spectacle.
