Abstract
This paper presents a modified optimal velocity model (MOVM) forvehicle following. It makes use of time to collision (TTC) in order toreduce the reference speed when relative speed against the leadingvehicle is negative. Simulation results have shown an anticipationbehavior which leads to smoother maneuvers. The driver riskperception of rear-end collision is also enhanced.
