H_infinity Filtering for Discrete-Time Piecewise Linear Systems
Abstract
This paper deals with the design of piecewise linear H_infinityfilters for discrete-time piecewise linear systems. Both thesystem and filter have structures that change according to theirswitching rules. The system switching rule is characterized interms of a given partition of the system state-space. The filterswitching rule is also characterized in terms of a suitable filterstate-space partition which is determined, jointly with the filtermatrices, in order to ensure a prescribed H_infinity performance forthe estimation error system. The filter design is based on apiecewise quadratic Lyapunov function and is given in terms oflinear matrix inequalities (LMIs).
