The work presents an innovative interpretation of Mamdani and Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models, that allows a better representation of systems’ dynamics. It is shown, with illustrative examples, that, while Mamdani model is better for static features, Takagi-Sugeno model is better for dynamic ones, although only around the linearization points. Nevertheless, Mamdani model would be a perfect approximator for dynamic systems if new conditions are taken into account.
