Process Synthesis

American Institute of Chemical Engineers
1998 Annual Meeting
November 1998
Miami Beach, Florida

Sponsored by the Computing & Systems Technology Division

(Area 10a) Systems and Process Design

We invite papers that deal with methods for synthesis of chemical process
systems. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) flowsheet
synthesis, reaction path and reactor network synthesis, synthesis of novel
separation schemes, and integration of synthesis, design and control. The
methodologies presented may involve concepual approaches, mathematical
programming and heuristic strategies, among others. Areas that have not
received adequate attention in traditional process synthesis literature
(such as environmental applications) are particularly encouraged.

A one-page abstract and a proposal to present form should be submitted
electronically by March 15 via the AIChEWeb at
http://www.aiche.org/docs/meetapp/programming/cfp.htm. Copies will then be
sent automatically to the session chair and co-chair. Abstracts will be
reviewed anonymously and authors will be notified of the results by May 1.

Please note that the CAST division abstract submission deadline of March 15
is earlier than the general AIChE deadline of 4/1/98.
