I will send you the final version. The main changes I made were:

•	In the introduction it is stated that this kind of optimization has never been performed in open microalgae reactors.
•	I clarify that the steady state model is derived from setting the derivatives of the dynamic model to zero. 
•	The cost function equation now appears after mentioning it in the text.
•	I mention that the optimal evolution is related to a maximum growth rate.
•	In the section "Optimizer and constraints" I have included a figure representing the interactions between controllers and data.
•	I have removed the doi from all the references, as suggested from one of the reviewers.

I hope you like this version. I did not send it to you before submitting it because the changes were relatively minor, but if you find something odd I think we can send a new version.
