Upon its opening in 2003, the state-of-the-art Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) was recognised by the South African Institute of Architects as “flexible, modern, international and cool ... made for its varied purposes”. Since then, thanks to its size and sophistication, the CTICC has put Cape Town on the map as a major international congress destination.

A two-storey gallery extends the full length of the centre, linking all its venues in a highly cohesive way and allowing a smooth flow and circulation of visitors. Two large auditoria offer excellent technological infrastructure and superb acoustics, and the 10,000 square metres of dedicated exhibition space and various smaller meeting rooms can be configured into almost any size or shape. The magnificent 2 000 square metre Grand Ballroom, with its full glass façade, offers striking views of the city skyline. Open spaces, natural light, trees and greenery, and bold, distinctive artworks expressing African and Cape essences ensure that the centre is not only technologically sophisticated but also aesthetically pleasing.

The CTICC is disabled-friendly, with international standard wheel-chair access, designated drop-off points and parking bays, toilets for the physically disabled, and elevators with Braille inscription.
