Abstract

We address in this work some theoretical and numerical issues onoptimal design problems concerning evolution equation and morespecifically the wave equation posed in 1-D and 2-D domain. Wecompute the gradient of the cost function and then use the levelset approach to optimize the location of actuators in order tostabilize or control exactly a given system.
