An Effective Graphical Approach to Define Objectives and Structure of a Control System

Abstract

Author uses software engineering tools and RUP methodology to manage design of control for complex systems. UML diagrams are used to describe requirements and to model the system on high level of abstraction. Graphical approach with RUP and UML helps to integrate subsystems of different nature and to eliminate main risks of failure of the control subsystem project. Examples of different UML diagrams are enclosed. Implementation and detailed design is not described in the paper.
