Robust Performance in Biophysical Networks
Abstract
Robust performance, the attainment of a specified response underuncertainty, is a well studied problem in control engineering. Inthe field of systems biology, related problems are emerging fromthe quantitative analysis of complex biophysical networks. In thispaper, connections are made between the robust %performanceperformance questions in biology and engineering. Two examples areused to illustrate these ideas: (i) a signal transduction network, and (ii) the gene network responsible for circadian oscillations.
