Abstract
The paper discusses the role of simulation in agent-based control systems. Wepresent the universal runtime interface enabling efficient interactions between the agentcontrol, manufacturing environment (emulated or physically connected), visualization andlow-level real-time control programs. As a case study, we provide the description of theMAST simulation tool and its application to Cambridge packing cell.
