Abstract

In this paper we consider design of observers for non-linearmodels containing both dynamic and algebraic equations, so calleddifferential-algebraic equations (DAE) or descriptor models. Theobserver is formulated as a DAE and the main results of the paperinclude conditions that ensure local stability of the observer andalso that the observer has index 1. Design methodology is presentedand illustrated using a small simulation study.
