This paper is devoted to the identification and control of a glass fibre bushing. First a mathematical model, based on physical equations (electric, hydraulic and thermal balances), allows to predict the throughput, the electric power consumed and the temperature of the tip plate of the bushing. Then controls oriented linear models are obtained via experimental identification on the industrial process. Performance analysis of the existing control system is then provided by identifying the usual sensitivity functions.
