AN ASSIGNMENT TO TEACH CLOSED-LOOP SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION

In this paper a simulation assignment, which was developed to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Pretoria some of the main issues regarding closed-loop system identification, is discussed. A motivation for closed-loop system identification and a simulation assignment in this field is given. Then the simulation assignment is outlined, each step discussed, and the assignment is evaluated.
