INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS OF AUTOMATIC PERFORMANCE MONITORING TOOLS

This paper describes two procedures for automatic monitoring of control loop performance. The first is a procedure for detecting oscillations in control loops, and the second a procedure for detecting sluggish control loops. The focus of the paper is the industrial application of the procedures, and the various implementations possible and available.
