CAPE refers to computer aided process engineering where methods, algorithms, techniques, etc are developed and use to help the decision making process. The ESCAPE series constitutes a major event in the area of CAPE with over 200 participants from more than 50 countries. The series serve as a forum for bringing scientists, researchers, managers, engineers, and students from academia and industry to present and discuss progress being made in the area of CAPE. The two latest ESCAPE symposia were organised in Netherlands (2002) and Finland (2003).
