Catalist of nickel were preparated by impregnation process using as precursor of active phase NiCL2.
Four distribution of Nickel over spherical pellets of γ-Al2O3, were obtained (uniform, egg shell, egg yolk and egg white) varying the pH, second impregnated specie, initial state of support, initial concentration of precursor, time and impregnation protocols. The catalysts prepared were used in a packed bed reactor for the partial oxidation of ethanol in air, at different temperatures, and the effect of the distribution of Nickel over the conversion was measured. The support and catalyst obtained were characterized by BET, TGA, XRD, TPD, TPO and SEM. The impregnation profile reached was determinated by analysis photograph using MatLab. The catalysts used was characterized too. The products of reaction were evaluated by GC and IR
The reaction was carrying on kinetic regimen measures rate of reaction vs. W/F..
