In this talk I shall report our experience on the demonstration of surface science experiments at area middle schools. These experiments demonstrate the concepts of surface tension, surface flows, surface reactions and even miscible interfaces. Experiments that demonstrate capillary effects, pressure variations on account of diameter changes, emulsions and foams will be discussed. Applications for K-12 students involving household agents such as food, garden chemicals and detergents will also be given. All of these experiments are part of a kit that we have assembled for free distribution to area rural middle schools.
