Senior engineering students at university are courted by companies wanting to hire them. Unfortunately, the honeymoon is all too short, as newly graduated engineers learn during the company "on-boarding" process. This talk presents the pitfalls of "on-boarding", what the company expects of newly graduated engineers, the necessity for career planning, and the characteristics required of them for successful career development. In other words, this talk presents the "ins and outs" of corporate survival, especially during the first year.
