The ADCHEM 2000 meeting will be held on June 14-16, 2000 in Pisa,
Italy. Organized under the auspices of IFAC, ADCHEM (International
Symposium on Advanced Control of Chemical Processes) is a continuing
series of international meetings held most recently in Banff, Canada
(1997), Kyoto, Japan (1994) and Toulouse, France (1991). These
meetings have traditionally focused on advances in methods for control
and estimation and are part of a three year rotation of IFAC meetings
in process control, which also include DYCOPS (Corfu, 1998) and the
IFAC World Congress (Beijing, 1999).

For the upcoming ADCHEM meeting, contributed papers will be considered
in the following areas:

1. Modeling and Simulation - these can include first principle models,
data driven models, and model reduction for control and optimization

2. Model Based Control - including linear and nonlinear MPC,
linearizations based geometric concepts, etc.

3. Realtime Optimization - including optimization of steady state and
dynamic models, integration with control systems

4. Process and Control Monitoring - including PCA and
other statistical techniques, auditing of sensors, etc.

5. Process Identification - including estimation and filtering of
linear and nonlinear systems.

6. Process Control Applications and Plantwide Control - including the
control of environmental systems, petroleum refineries, etc.

Deadlines for submission of contributed papers are:

September 6, 1999 - submission of draft papers
January 10, 2000 - notification of acceptance
March 15, 2000 - submission of papers in camera ready form
June 14-16, 2000 - conference

The meeting is being organized by a National Organizing Committee
chaired by Profs. A. Brambilla, C. Scali and D. Semino at the
