PSESCAPE-97: How to create a PostScript document

PostScript is a printer-language, or rather the printer language. For a more general description and definitions, please look up the PostScript page at Adobe Systems.

General

  • Your printer is most likely a PostScript printer - the best initial "guess" would be to upload the file you printed for proof-reading.
  • Visual inspection : Postscript files are ordinary text and are imediately recognized in a standard non-formatting text editor as they start with the string "%!"
  • Specific hints

  • LaTeX-users: remember to convert your dvi-file to PostScript
  • Windows-users: select a proper PostScript printer and send the output to a file
