Ph.D student Kjell Støle-Hansen

Status

I started my Ph.D. study in September 1994 and will finish my doctoral degree in march 1998. In 1996 I will be on a six month leave from my studies working at one of Falconbridges process plants in Canada. My doctoral work is financed by the INPRO program, and my advisor is Prof. Bjarne A. Foss.

Research area

The preliminary title of my thesis is "Model based operation of a precipitation process". My work is within modeling, control and operator support of a precipitation process. My industrial partner is Falconbridge Nikkelverk in Kristiansand, Norway. This year I have nearly completed the first part of my work, which is first principles and black-box modeling of a precipitation reactor, including data collection and verification. I have also finished the last part of the required courses this year.
