Ph.D student Catharina Lindheim
Status
I started my Ph.D studies Sept. 1994 and expect to finish by the end of
1997. I am participating in the INPRO-program which is a cross-disciplinary
Ph.D-program. My advisor is Prof. Kristian M. Lien.
Research Area
My research activities are related to «operation of process plants».
The last semester my focus has been on Enterprise Modeling. During my doctoral
work, I am cooperating with Statoil Research Center in Trondheim and Statoil
Tjeldbergodden. One of the main issues during the last semester has been to
define the subject of my thesis. This work will continue the following
semester.
Activities
During 1995, I attended the following courses:
- Advanced process synthesis
- Systems engineering
- Theory of science
- Operation of process plants II
- Organizational development
- During spring I supervised third grade students in their
Process-laboratory projects
- I have established contact with Statoil Tjeldbergodden
- INPRO-activities:
Seminars at associated plants:
- Statoil Research Center, Trondheim, March 24th, «Enterprise
Modeling»
- Falconbridge, Kristiansand, May 4th · Nycomed Imaging, Oslo, Nov. 9th
Conference attendance:
- ESCAPE-5, Bled, Slovenia, June
- ISPE'95 (Intelligent Systems in Process Engineering)
- Snowmass, Colorado, USA, July · A paper has been submitted to the
ESCAPE-6 conference at Rhodes, Greece, May 1996
Plans
- I am going to spend three weeks (from January 8th to January 26th) at
DuPont Canada Inc., Gibbons. The main purpose is to observe and study their
organization structure. I am going to visit this plant again another time
during 1996.
- Throughout the next year I will spend some time at Statoil Tjeldbergodden.
I am going to study the process, the organization structure, their information
system and their process control system. I will participate in a project work
dealing with this information system.
